This is a take out only just FYI. I got a large BBQ sandwich and fries. BBQ was amazingly delicious. A little skimpy on the meat for 10 but still delicious and exactly what I was craving. Fries were cooked perfectly golden brown. Seems other places under cook fries anymore and it drives me crazy. Lady working the register was very nice and made sure to see if I needed any condiments. They were super busy and employees working their butts off so leave them a tip. Being a truck driver I don't get to eat at to many places like this and I'm so glad I stopped in.
We got the small bbq sandwich and fries and potato salad. The sandwiches were delicious! If your in the area looking for a great lunch, this place is recommended by me!!
It's been YEARS since I've been and I can't for the life of me know why I stop but grateful to reconnect...I got three pieces whiting and fries and I love the grilled bread... Purchase sweet potato pie it was good...I thank everyone for their hard work and safe travels home... A staple of Richmond VA that is still being BLESS
I like this spot over the Hawks in SS Plaza! It's reasonable price. Lunch special @11:30 a.m. 10.45 for this goodness. 2 pc whiting or trout and a drink.
I've been going to Hawks for their fried fish for almost 30 years now. The only thing that has changed is their location. The food is prepared upon ordering. No need to worry about food sitting around under a heat lamp. It's all freshly made right there. They also sell barbecue which I haven't had from them. There's a limited amount of seating inside so you may want to order head by calling it in or coming on to place your order to go. The staff are warm and welcoming. Should you want to have them prepare food for a graduation party or other event contact them on advance for their availability. I want to a party in which the food was from them and it was well done and everyone enjoyed. You can also get the food delivered by Door Dash. If you haven't tried them, then what are you waiting for?
Hawk's BBQ has always been my favorite! I picked up the 8pc Whiting fillets, an order of hushpuppies, and some macaroni salad. Stop by you will not be disappointed! Good service and Food. I have loved Hawk's since I was a kid and it has not changed!! You will love something off the menu too.
I was going to go to Firehouse subs next door and then I saw the handmade sign for Hawk's BBQ. I noticed the handwritten menu and knew I had to try it out. I noticed all the customers and staff had a deep country drawl and the staff looked like someone's crotchety aunt or grandma. Jackpot! Good eating, guaranteed. I got the crab cake dinner which had 2 of the best crab cakes ever. They would draw raves at a 5 star restuarant. Only complaint, they were on thin white bread and should be on hamburger buns or Texas toast. Hush puppies were really good too. I give the ambiance a 1/10, but I came for the food, so 5 stars.
My husband and I luv to stop by this location every time we come back down 95 heading home. Food and service always great
